♞ Mangus — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Mangus is a chess coaching app. It analyzes your chess.com games on your
device. This policy explains what it does and does not do with data.
The short version
Mangus has no accounts and collects no personal information. It does not use
analytics, advertising, or trackers, and it does not share any data with third
parties. All game analysis runs entirely on your device.
What the app accesses
- A chess.com username you type in. The app sends that
username to chess.com's public Published-Data API to download that player's
publicly available games. This is the same public data anyone can
view on chess.com. Mangus does not log in to chess.com and cannot access
any private or account information.
- Your username, stored on your device. The last username
you entered is saved locally on your phone so you don't have to retype it.
It never leaves your device and is not sent to us — we do not operate any
server that receives your data.
What the app does NOT do
- No account, sign-up, or login.
- No collection of names, emails, contacts, location, or device identifiers.
- No analytics or crash tracking SDKs.
- No advertising and no ad trackers.
- No selling or sharing of data. There is no Mangus server — the app talks
only to chess.com's public API to fetch games, and does all analysis
on-device.
Children
Mangus does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone,
including children under 13.
